The Festival 2016

This is the 7th Children's Festival for Rotherham's children and young people and will highlight the commitment to the Mission for:

  • all students making at least good progress

  • no underperforming cohorts

  • all teachers delivering at least good learning

  • and all schools moving to at least the next level of successful performance.

The Festival will provide opportunities for children and young people to showcase their talents and aspirations and to enrich the lives of children and families through participation in artistic and creative processes.

The Rotherham Children's Festival is one of the largest activities for educational establishments of its kind.  Reaching out to children and young people across the Borough, the Festival has touched the lives of over 70,000 visitors since it's conception in 2009.  Each year the number of people taking part has increased and more children and young people participate in memorable events which enrich their lives.

The Festival has made a critical contribution to achieving the next phase of Transforming Rotherham Learning.  It provids a very powerful model of professional and community cohesion and brings aspirations and achievement significantly closer together.

The Festival has afforded all children and young people in the Borough the opportunity to celebrate their achievements on a growing platform and provides a dynamic endorsement of the core values which underpin the local school system and renews our confidence in our collective futures.

What an amazing time we have had

The Festival 2016 has been the most inspiring and motivational 14 days. The celebtation of our children's talents and achievements has been memorable. Over 10,000 children, young people and adults have participated this year. It really has been an incredible experience.
